Consumer Health Data • Last Updated: July 23, 2026
Consumer Health Privacy
FaithGrind holds recovery data. Some states call this consumer health data and give you specific rights over it. This page says what we collect, why, who touches it, and how to control it.
A Quick Note
This is the Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy for Strong Associations LLC, doing business as FaithGrind. It sits alongside our main Privacy Policy and covers the data that laws like Washington's My Health My Data Act, Nevada SB370, and Connecticut's health-data rules treat as consumer health data.
It applies to everyone who uses FaithGrind, not just people in those states. It is not legal advice. For any request under this policy, contact info [at] faithgrind.com.
1. Consumer Health Data We Collect
When you use the recovery tools, we collect the following categories of consumer health data:
- ▸Sobriety and clean-time tracking, including the start date you set and any resets you report
- ▸Daily check-ins: mood, reflection responses, and the notes you write
- ▸Urge logs: intensity, what triggered it, what helped, and any note you add
- ▸Setback and relapse self-reports, including the Get Back Up flow
- ▸Your recovery goals and what you are rebuilding, and why it matters to you
- ▸What you are working on (your focus area)
- ▸AI Coach conversations, including text and voice transcripts, and the short memories the coach saves to personalize your coaching
This data is sensitive by nature. Sensitive fields such as urge notes, journey notes, and your recovery profile are encrypted at rest, and AI Coach memories are encrypted with a key held separately from the database.
2. Where This Data Comes From
All of it comes directly from you: what you type, say, and tap inside the app. We do not buy consumer health data, and we do not collect it from data brokers, advertising networks, or other third parties.
3. Why We Collect It
We use consumer health data for one thing: to run the recovery tools you signed up for. Specifically:
- ▸Track your sober or clean time and your streaks
- ▸Deliver and personalize your daily check-ins
- ▸Run the AI Coach and let it remember your situation over time so it can coach you better
- ▸Log urges and show you your own patterns
- ▸Support you through setbacks with the Get Back Up flow
We do not use it for advertising, and we do not use your private recovery data to train third-party AI models.
4. Who We Share It With
We share consumer health data only with the service providers that run the app, and only the data each one needs to do its job. Each acts as our processor under a written data protection agreement or equivalent contractual terms. They are not free to use your data for their own purposes.
OpenAI
Provides the language models that power the AI Coach. Your messages are sent to OpenAI's API, which processes them as a data processor under its API business terms and does not use API inputs to train its models.
ElevenLabs
Powers voice features for the AI Coach. When you use voice, the text and audio of that session are processed by ElevenLabs as a processor. Transcripts are stored by us, not by ElevenLabs.
Infrastructure Providers
Supabase hosts the database in the United States, and Vercel hosts the app and API. They process data on our behalf to keep the Service running. See the main Privacy Policy for the full list of processors.
People You Invite
If you invite a mentor or an accountability partner, only the specific information you choose to share is shown to that person at your request. For a mentor that is your current streak, your last check in date, and your clean time. It never includes your coach conversations, your notes, or your urge logs. You can revoke a mentor's access at any time in your settings.
5. We Do Not Sell It or Use It for Ads
We do not sell your consumer health data for money or anything else of value. We do not share it for advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising, and we run no advertising SDKs or tracking pixels on the app. Because we never sell it, no separate written authorization to sell is ever needed.
6. Consent
Before we collect any consumer health data, we ask for your clear, affirmative consent at the start of onboarding. Nothing is pre-checked; you choose to say yes. You can withdraw that consent at any time from your privacy settings (on the web at faithgrind.com/app/privacy, or in the mobile app under Menu, then Privacy). If you decline or withdraw, your account still works for courses, articles, and content. The recovery tools stay off until you say yes.
7. Your Rights and How to Use Them
You have the right to access, delete, and withdraw consent for your consumer health data, and to a list of the third parties it is shared with (Section 4 is that list). These are built into the app, for every user:
- ▸Access and export: download a copy of your data as a JSON file from your privacy settings
- ▸Delete: forget any or all AI Coach memories, or delete your account, which permanently removes your data
- ▸Withdraw consent: turn off health-data collection from the same privacy settings, any time
- ▸Correct: update your profile in the app, or email us
You can also email info [at] faithgrind.com to exercise any of these rights. We verify your identity using information already in our records and respond within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for exercising a right.
8. We Do Not Collect Your Location
FaithGrind does not collect your precise location. The app requests no location permission and stores no GPS coordinates. Because we never know where you are, we cannot and do not use geofencing around health facilities or anywhere else.
9. How Long We Keep It
We keep consumer health data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove it from active systems within 30 days, and backups roll off within 90 days. See the main Privacy Policy for full retention details.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date above, and for material changes we will give you notice by email or in-app before the change takes effect.
